The MMO was originally announced solely for Android and iOS, but Blizzard Entertainment revealed in a blog post that a PC port will be released in open beta alongside the mobile version.

Blizzard claimed in another blog post on the PC version's development that the port "will feel a little different from prior PC Diablo games" for long-time fans because the game was initially exclusively meant for mobile.

Blizzard decided to make this version when it decided that many fans would try and emulate the mobile game on PC anyway, and would rather make a fully functioning, native version than see players struggle through a substandard experience.

As a result, the PC version is "an experiment," which is why it is only available in beta and not as a full edition. "It's critical for us to reassure you that Immortal will provide an uncompromised AAA mobile experience when played on Windows PC," according to the article.

Diablo: Immortal was unveiled at BlizzCon 2018 and was rumoured to be releasing on June 30 when a date appeared in the game's pre-registration for Apple devices.
