Hogwarts Legacy Release Date: This year, Hogwarts Legacy – an all-new adventure set in the Harry Potter universe – will be released on all the major gaming platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. However, instead of launching simultaneously across all these systems, the release will be staggered over a period of six months.
Further adding to the uncertainty around when players can experience the game is the Deluxe Edition’s early access. If players pay an additional fee, they will be able to play the game earlier than the general release date.
The official launch of Hogwarts Legacy was on Feb. 10th, with the versions of the game on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X available. Meanwhile, those who purchased the Deluxe Edition had the opportunity to start playing the game 72 hours earlier, on Feb. 7th.
Potter fans with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles can look forward to Hogwarts Legacy, slated for launch on April 4, without any early access period for the versions on these consoles. Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch players will be able to get their hands on the game from July 25.
When can fans of the Wizarding World enjoy playing Hogwarts Legacy on their favorite gaming platform?
Feb. 7 — Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition early access (PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X)
Feb. 10 — Hogwarts Legacy standard edition (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X)
April 4 — Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition and standard edition (PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
July 25 — Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition and standard edition (Nintendo Switch)

Are you aware of the Collector’s Edition of the Hogwarts Legacy?
The extravagant Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, which allows devoted Harry Potter aficionados to access the game early, will be released on February 7. While technically, the Collector’s Edition of the game can be pre-ordered for PS5 and Xbox Series X at $299.99, or for PC at $289.99, PS4 and Xbox One versions are also available at the same price of $289.99, but only arriving in April. Sadly, a Collector’s Edition of the Nintendo Switch version is not being sold by Warner Bros. This might be a blessing in disguise, as it appears that the Collector’s Edition has already been sold out at both Amazon and GameStop.
The release of the new game has been overshadowed by the controversy over J.K. Rowling’s transphobic comments, which has prompted fans to express their discontent. While Rowling was not involved in the development of the game, she will still benefit from its profits as it holds a license to the Harry Potter franchise. In a statement, a Warner Bros. spokesperson noted that their intention was to “produce a game that is reflective of the diversity of the Wizarding World fan community.”
Avalanche Software took action to address the criticism and promote inclusivity within Hogwarts Legacy. Players are given the opportunity to craft their character through the Character Creator, with a variety of body types, voices, and dormitory choices to choose from. Additionally, the game’s story features Sirona Ryan, a trans woman, in the role of a bartender.
Conclusion
Hogwarts Legacy is proving to be a remarkable success, with 2 million viewers tuning into Twitch on its launch day, setting the record for the most viewers of any single-player game in history. Don’t miss out – grab a copy while it’s still available!
