Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipsets: Qualcomm has recently unveiled the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a cost-effective mobile chipset that aims to elevate lower-tier smartphones. This upgraded platform boasts various enhancements, such as extended battery life, promising uninterrupted usage throughout the day. Furthermore, Qualcomm guarantees swift CPU performance, seamless 5G connectivity, and the potential for enhanced visuals through integrated cameras.
The chips in question showcase Qualcomm’s proprietary Kryo CPU. These chips boast peak speeds of up to 2.2 GHz, delivering a slight increase compared to the previous generation. What makes them even more impressive is Qualcomm’s quick-charging technology. As stated by the company, you can achieve a remarkable 50 percent charge in just 15 minutes when plugged in.
The platform supports modern FHD+ displays with frame rates of up to 120 fps. Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 also enables significant camera enhancements, including electronic image stabilization, faster autofocus, enhanced blur reduction, and more. Furthermore, this chipset offers multi-camera temporal filtering (MCTF), resulting in a remarkable reduction in video noise.

This modern product, announced in 2023, naturally places a strong emphasis on AI. Specifically, it offers camera upgrades that utilize AI-based lighting adjustments to capture stunning photos even in low-light settings. Additionally, it incorporates an advanced tool developed by AI to effectively remove background noise.
Connectivity-wise, there is the X61 5GB Modem-RF system, designed exclusively for faster speeds and improved network support. This cutting-edge technology has yet to be seen in budget-friendly smartphones, but it is expected to make its debut later this year. Renowned OEM brands like Redmi and Vivo have already committed to incorporating this advanced chipset into their product lineups.
